Summer Style Inspiration

I have an Rodan+Field beach retreat coming up at the end of this month and I’m so excited. It’s amazing to know that these are the women I will get to travel with forever. And we will get to go on these awesome trips because we are helping people change their lives and embrace their healthiest skin. Plus we get to keep adding fun people to the crew.

So naturally, when I go on a trip, I decide I need all new clothing. I have been finding myself clicking on SheIn a few times and I’ve ordered from them before (I talked about it HERE) and there’s a few things to note. Make sure it says Priority Dispatching and read the reviews!! Reviews with customer images are the go-to’s.  Regardless of if I grab these exact ones, or use these for inspiration, I thought these styles are adorable for Summer. Having a toddler, I need to make sure my clothing is practical, but I also like to have a fun earring to go with my practical clothing to spruce things up when I sneak out.

How cute is that fringe sleeve shirt and those gold hammered earrings?! Everything on here is $20 or less. You can grab insurance on the items for $1.99 and then your return is free. So that’s a total win.

What have been your summer style finds?

I know tassel earrings are the rage and I love them, but that might be A LOT of twinning when you get all the girls together.

Make Your Own Kids Chalk Table || DIY

This is the easiest DIY you will ever do! Seriously. Jeff’s mom gave us this cute out door kids patio table, but I had an idea for it. A Chalk Table! I DIY’d this little baby into a little art table asap, and it’s possibly Reeg’s favorite thing. She loves to sit and color. And the BEST part?! Chalk comes out!! (Hooray for a Mom Hack!) So, while I haven’t let her play much with crayons and markers, she is always covered in chalk. And there is zero need to get stressed over it.

What You’ll Need For Your Chalk Table:

Seriously, that’s it. And it doesn’t have to be a similar table. You can do this with any table you have or one you find at a garage sale. I would recommend a smooth top, wooden picnic table would be tricky for coloring.

Step by Step

  1. Clean the table and let it dry.
  2. Wipe the table down with your cloth and mineral spirits. (I did this a few times to make sure all the dirt and oils were off.)
  3. Use the roller to paint the chalk paint on.
  4. Let dry.
  5. Second Coat.
  6. Dry
  7. Repeat as needed.
  8. You’re done!

Yup, that’s seriously it!

We did ours over a two night span. I wanted to make sure the paint was really dry. At first you’ll see lines of where you rolled, but as it dries, those go away. I was thinking of doing the bench seats as well, but Jeff reminded me that then her booty will constantly be covered in chalk. So, we skipped it. For now.

This would even make a great gift. Kids are so hard to shop for.  Up-cycling a little art table for them is sure to be a hit.

Keep the roller and paint around! My daughter really pounds at that chalk table and has chipped some of the paint. I don’t fret. Eventually, I’ll sand it and redo the process.

Our Favorite Toys || 1 Year

One thing I can tell you for sure is that kids pick the toys they love; not you.

There are toys that we play with everyday; and toys I swore Reegs would love and she doesn’t ever touch. The other day, I was sitting on the living room floor with her and listening to this BeatBowWow Puppy sing ‘Colors’  for the 2356934th time and I became curious… What are her top 5 favorite toys?!

(I’ll give you a hint… BeatBowWow is basically Beyoncé)

DIY Industrial Curtain Rod :: Guest Room

I love a good DIY. And even more when it’s the cheaper option.

When we bought the house, the downstairs room was actually an open entry way office. And while those windows are incredible for an office, it became quickly apparent that we would need a downstairs guest room for our parents. We decided to have Home Depot place some french doors on the room and convert it into an airy guest room. Because this  is at the entrance of the house light , and these windows are a huge source of light downstairs, keeping the room light and bright were a must. French doors made the most sense. They match pocket doors that lead into the dining room, and it makes it where if we ever were to sell, the next owners can decide if they want it to be an office again. It was a win-win all around.

There are perks to living in a home well thought out by a developer like John Wieland (Like the basement being stemmed for a bathroom); but there are also annoyances like not being able to match anything. I called the John Wieland company to try and get specifics for the french doors to match the pocket doors, but they had zero info for me. They didn’t care to be honest. So, I got over my perfectionism (with a help from a few friends), and headed to Home Depot. The customer service at our Home Depot was great. They gracefully dealt with my anxiety and installed the doors and transom for us without faltering.

But now that guest room needed a little privacy!

Patio Inspiration

“Winter is over, which means just one thing…” – Olaf

It means that I’m in our backyard with Reegan on a daily basis. Seriously. This kid wakes up, grabs her shoes, and walks to the back door. I feel pretty lucky to have a backyard after 13 years in apartments, but as of right now, there’s no where to lounge and chill. So as I sit in the grass, I often day dream about what patio furniture I would love on our patio and deck. The list of things to get for this house is never ending, so it’ll be a hot second (Jeff says years. Dear Sweet Jesus…) before we actually get these pieces… But this is what I’m thinking…

Treat Yo Self to a JORD Watch Giveaway!

You. Guys. It’s 2017. Like when did that happen?! How was everyones holiday season?! Ours was so relaxing. I took a detox from social media here and there and started to get my life together after this insane move. We had visitors in town and even went on a little weekend getaway to Charlotte to visit a few friends, played trivia, restored some furniture (you can always see that going on on my Snapchat), and did about a thousand trips to my mecca, Targét. It was one of those months that just flowed right by in the best kind of way.

In all the hustle, JORD watches reached out to me and it was a pretty fun email. Because this time, it was for my husband!

10 Month’s :: Clothing Favorites

So, I’ll be the first to admit, I LOVE buying clothing for Reegs, but I also have to be honest and say I put her in the same stuff over and over again. Why? Because those things just work. And this whole mom thing is hard enough as it is. To make her look an like an Insta-Baby all the time it a joke. I don’t know how those moms do it. Teach me your ways, Unicorns! Teach me your ways! Anyways. I wanted to share our favorite go to’s with all of you.
