Checking In :: 6 Months of Reegan

Well, I don’t have any idea how it happened so quickly, but here we are… 6 months in with this sweet sweet angel baby. So, how is it? How am I? How is she? Is she sleeping?  Here we go…

Flying With Baby! (Carry-On Prep)

Flying with a baby. Lord, help me. I planned 4 solo flights with Reegan, within a 2 week period. Short ones. But, still. Sure, I have flown with a baby before. Once. When she was barely 2 months old. And with my husband’s help. But now with a wiggly, opinionated 6 month old? Oh buddy!

The hardest part in the preparation was packing my carry on’s. What would I need at the airport to save us from epic melt downs and trauma? I am the self proclaimed worst packer ever. I brought over SEVEN pairs of high heels on our honeymoon and didn’t use one pair. I pack a 50 pound bag for a weekend. For just me! I carry 2 carry on’s every single time I travel. My “What If” list in my head is SO long. So, when Jeff let me know that I needed to condensed me and Reegs’ things into one suitcase for a 2 week trip… deep breaths. Add in walking through airports with a baby, a stroller, a car seat, and a carry on. Prayers.

5 Tips to Getting The Best Photos of Your Baby

There is one thing every mom, and new family member, has in common, we never stop photographing these sweet babies. {Just check the hashtag #clickinmoms on Instagram!} But the truth is these adorable love bugs, are wiggly worms to stay the least. It’s taken some getting clever, and super silly, to getting successfully super cute snaps of Reegan. Photographing children is a talent. That is for sure. So I turned to my friend, Kim Bottalico of Kinosi Photography, to ask her top 5 tricks to taking the photos that last a lifetime.

I have used all these tricks when photographing Reegan. It’s amazing what a little time, and sometimes distraction, can turn into when you press that button at just the right moment. Remember that we are living in a digital world. It might take 15 photos to get the 1, but that’s ok! Just have fun!

Ollie & Tate :: Giveaway!!

I need a moment. Reegan sprouted the tip of her first tooth this week, and I’m just not ready. I thought we had at least 2 more months of that gummy grin, but it turns out, Reegs is ahead of the game. (I can feel the second one coming soon.) I do have to admit that I had a feeling this moment was coming. The drool was becoming uncontrollable, and our sleeping situation is a train-wreck. So, in preparation for this moment, and in an effort to protect her super cute clothing from being soaked 10x a day, I reached out to Ollie & Tate

Co-Sleeping :: How Did We Get Here?

If you follow me on Snapchat, you know that Reegs has made her way into our bed. Once again co-sleeping was a “When I have kids, I’ll never…” (*Remind me to never say never again.) It started with mornings. After the 5am feeding I would wave the white flag and pull her in for cuddles, and max sleep efforts. Then family visited and the air mattress took over her room. Then she started rolling, and getting her arm stuck under her. So, after going in every 5 minutes, I once again surrendered. Last week she started putting her arms and legs through the crib slats, and we decided that until her crib bumper arrives (island life over here!) co-sleeping it is. The cuddle bug is in all her glory.

What You Really Need in Your Diaper Bag!

Packing a diaper bag can be overwhelming as a new mom. It’s hard enough to keep a baby alive, but now you have to take it outside?! Luckily, nannying at least taught me this much. I was quick to prep a main diaper bag, and mini ones for each car and the stroller. Here is the best way to break it down…
