There are certain wedding details for your wedding that only you will remember.
There are some that are really worth the extra attention and some that just weren’t.
There are other topics within the wedding I will get to that were worth it or not, but this is small details. We are talking invites, place cards, hashtags, flowers, and more…
Save That Money
1| Name Place Cards. I really don’t know how to elaborate on this much other than they quickly go in the trash. You might have one friend who is engaged or newly married and keeps hers because of the name change. Other than that people don’t notice. Whatever is the cheapest option, a board, a folded card, do that. She can keep her invitation instead.
2| Table Numbers. I bought mine off of a previous wedding that my wedding planner had planned. I saw them on her Instagram and immediately wanted them. With things like that, head to ebay or a marketplace. I sold them to another bride she worked with after me.
3| Flowers. Ok this is hard. But floral budgets are SHOCKING when you are doing an event as big as a wedding. I was shocked at least. I saved by going heavy on the Baby’s Breath. Which I wanted to begin with, but I thought we get to a fluffier place with our dollars. Our florist really worked with me to make my flower dreams come true. The good thing about Baby’s Breath is it dries pretty too. Find a florist you are comfortable talking to and get really specific. Certain flowers are pricier in certain months. You can also fill in with vases and candles that don’t die. **Remember that flowers wilt in heat.
Spend The Money
1| Hashtag It. It’s so 2019. But we spent extra on a few cocktail napkins that had our Hashtag #CottetEverAfter printed on it, and it let me see others photos long after the wedding. It won’t be a ton extra but I think the detail is nice.
2| Accent Table Linens. I splurged for the leveled up runners and napkins and it made the tablescape. If you are spending that much on flowers, finish them off with a pretty napkin. My one regret is that I didn’t steal one of those dang napkins. Villa Woodbine, if you are listening – Send me a Toile Napkin please!!!!
3| Invitation Upgrades. This is going to be controversial. I think invitations set the mood. I don’t think your Save the Dates or Thank You cards need to be fancy at all, but your invitations tell guest what to wear. I worked with Caitlin at Say it With Paper on mine. Granted I only had 75 people at our wedding, but I was slightly obsessive about the invitations.
