Best Skincare Products for 30-Somethings

I have been through the wringer on the skincare front.

I am religious about my skincare products because I have seen some really bad acne. Painful, all over, peeling, cracking, all the things hot mess express of skin. My current skincare keeps my skin hydrated without breaking me out. Which can be a very tricky balance for me. I wanted to share the skincare products that have been tried and true to me.

DHC Deep Cleansing Oil

I am a true believer in double-cleansing. I am not one of those women that can fall asleep in my foundation and worry about it later. I have found that this DHC Deep Cleansing Oil doesn’t mess with my skincare and provides great moisture. I apply the oil on my face and wait a minute or two. This allows the oil cleaner to lift everything off my skin. Whether I have worn makeup or not, this helps me keep blackheads away.

Please don’t use straight coconut oil, I know a lot of people swear by it, but I have a beauty blogger/makeup artist BFF that will die on the hill that traditional Coconut Oil is not the end all be all for your skin. It’s solid. It will clog your pores as such. It crushes my skin. This DHC Deep Cleansing Oil is specifically formulated for your face.

If you only try one of my recommended skincare products, make it this one. You will never regret it.

Murad Prebiotic 4-In-1 MultiCleanser

Option 1 for my second step of cleansing: This Prebiotic cleanser was originally sent to me in a PR package and I became addicted. I’m on my 3rd bottle. It’s a refreshing non-foaming cleanser. It’s so gentle but leaves me feeling refreshed and clean. I use this in the AM to remove any serums I had put on the night before.

Goop Glow Exfoliator

Option 2 for my second step of cleansing: rotates exfoliators. I am currently using one by Goop which is a tad pricier. A tiny bit goes a long way with this one. I do any exfoliators at night to avoid putting makeup over right after.

Murad’s Replenishing Multi-Acid Peel

I use this toner at night. I’ve gone through at least 3 bottles and miss it when I run out. This Multi-Acid Peel leaves my skin brighter.

Murad’s Nutrient-Charged Water Gel

Heavy moisturizers break me out time and time again. I love this water-based gel morning and night. And budget-friendly dupe for it is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost

My Make-Up Favorites in My Mid-Thirties

Using skincare products that make your skin happy are key for any makeup routine. But what you wear on your face all day can do damage that your skincare products can’t keep up with.

CeraVe Tinted Mineral Sunscreen

I used to be an IT Cosmetics junkie for everyday use, but as I have gotten older, I have wanted less and less cake coverage on my face. The thicker something is the older it can make me look. This sunscreen evens everything out but is super sheer. See my freckles sheer. Unfortunately, they currently only have 1 colorway and it skews fair. Hopefully, they will correct that situation soon.

If I am heading out where I might be in photos I add a little of this Armani foundation in. Armani’s foundation is hands down, no competition, the best photo-ready foundation of all time.

Vivienne Sabó – Classic French Mascara Cabaret Premiere

An Amazon Find sent to me by my dear friend, actress Natalie Dreyfuss, this mascara doesn’t steer you wrong. It’s under $13 and gives dark black coverage and length without ever making me look like a spider or raccoon. I’m on my 4th tube. If they use it on set, where they have access to everything, you know it’s good.
