The absolutely perfect Mashed Potatoes in the Instant Pot!
I have been digging through Pinterest to see what works and what doesn’t in the Instant Pot. There has been a lot of both. Today I wandered into Williams Sonoma, and instead of reinventing the wheel, decided to pick up a few of their “Instant Pot Starters”.
When I got home I couldn’t wait to try out the Classic Mashed Potatoes and decided to use Purple Potatoes I had on hand.
I figured the girls would love Purple Mashed Potatoes. Cut to Jeff and I eat them all.
When Williams Sonoma tells you to do something… I now know, you just do it.
I think making them purple added visual interest and it would be so adorable for Easter or a Mardi Gras party!
Plus purple potatoes hold antioxidants. So you are basically voiding out the butter as you eat them. Right? No? Go with it.
OUR FAVORITE INSTANT POT ACCESSORIES:
– CLASSIC MASHED POTATOES INGREDIENTS –
- 4-5 LBS of potatoes chopped. They recommend Yukon, I say go colorful!
- 1 cup of water
- 1 stick of butter cut into pieces. (yeah. whole stick)
- 1 cup of milk or half & half. (we use Califia Farms Ubermilk)
- 1 jar of Williams Sonoma’s Classic Mashed Potato Seasoning
– William Sonoma Mashed Potatoes INSTANT POT INSTRUCTIONS –
- Add water and chopped potatoes to the IP
- Close and seal lid
- Cook on Manual/Pressure Cook for 10 minutes!
- Quick release the steam with the vent when the 10 minutes is up
- Mash with potato masher
- Add butter, seasoning, and milk.
- Stir it all together until butter is completely melted.
- Serve warm. Enjoy!
