My Favorite Insect Repellents

If there might be mosquitoes outside, I WILL end up eaten a live. Unfortunately it seems like the girls are following in my footsteps. As I have mentioned this issue on social, you’ve requested a list… so here it is!

The Best Insect Repellents & Remedies

DynaTrap-Insect-Repellent-QVC My Favorite Insect Repellents

DynaTrap

DynaTrap is a UV light container that sucks insects in and traps them. Within two days our insect issue was noticeable better. DynaTrap offers DynaTrap Traps in 1/2 acre and full acre sizing. Ours is the 1/2 acre one that my sister gave us, but we have talked about getting a second one for the front of the house to possibly widen the radius. QVC has them in stock at a great price. The only con is that it needs reach to an outlet, however, it should be 20-40 feet away from your home/light. We have ours on the deck and it’s doing amazing, but I would love to put one out by the fence.

Murphy’s Natural Oil Insect Repellent Spray

I like this bug spray option especially for the girls and my legs. It’s an oil which feels moisturizing, and I can also see where I have put it. It’s not just spraying all over the place making us cough.

Murphy’s Natural Incense

We use Murphy’s Natural Incense Sticks around the yard, more so before the DynaTrap, but they work pretty well. Just set out a few surrounding the space you’ll be in. I was originally introduced to them through Grove Collaborative, but they are available through several retail spaces, including Amazon.  The incense also comes in this little cone version which would be easy to travel with. Let’s say you are going to a friend’s house or to a picnic  – toss a few of these in the diaper bag just in case.

Off! Deep Woods

Some times you need DEET. Off! Is always my go to for the big guns.

The Bug Bite Thing

Absolute MUST HAVE. I have one in the garage, my purse, the car… I have gifted them to people. The Bug Bite Thing is a simple suction tool that you can use for all ages. The faster you can suck the bite or sting, the less it itches or stings down the line.

Fels-Naptha Soap

Another great bug bite remedy. You can learn all about it’s many many uses here!
