More Than Maternity Clothes | Style For All Stages

I refused to buy maternity clothes until the last second, and that was a mistake.

At 8 months pregnant, my friends basically begged me to head to the store for some jeans. It was so cold outside and my belly was hanging out of my t-shirts. Daily the would say “Candace, just go get maternity clothes!” But it felt like a waste.

I just couldn’t wrap my head around clothes I would only use for a few months…

Finding clothing that will take you from early pregnancy, throughout, into postpartum and nursing, and beyond is basically finding gold, but it is 100% possible.

We are so lucky that women are making clothing with longevity, function, and style.

You just have to look!

The items below are incredible inspirations. Pieces that can transition you over months and years. Wrap dresses, shift dresses, and henley style buttons are life savers!

Mayarya was kind enough to send over a discount code for 10% off the entire site through the end of November. Maternity clothes and beyond!

My Measurements for Reference:

Height: 5 ft

Weight: 127 lbs

Regular Sizes: Jeans 25/26 – Tops S/M – Bra Size 32C

I got a size SMALL in everything. Most of it fit perfectly, but I probably could have sized down in the the wrap dress. I would say that dress depends on your bust size more. There is a decent amount of fabric in the bust. My chest has ‘regulated’ 6 months in to nursing.

There is a full try on session saved to my Instagram Highlights HERE!

Antibes Dress

This is the sweetest dress. It’s actually navy blue, but the lighting indoors can be rough.

Perfect for Thanksgiving with a bump, without a bump… whatever your season. There is forgiving belly space, and cute ruffle details. Honestly, even it pregnancy isn’t on your radar – this is a keeper.

For all postpartum nursing dresses, henley style button downs are key. You won’t be able to nurse from below in public with out access. You’ll need a deep-v, buttons, or a zipper situation for baby.

Sweet patterned dresses are amazing because they can be dressed up or down with heels, sneakers, a leather jacket, or a blazer. The sky is the limit.

Brera Dress

THIS SILK DRESS! Errands to date night, if you are looking for a capsule item, this is it. AND it has pockets. Flats or strappy sandals, there are a million ways to wear this dress. Plus, the V-neck buttons down to nurse. Comfortable. Sexy. Practical. I can see this piece being in heavy rotation.

Everyone needs a good wrap dress. DVF knows best, right? Somehow I didn’t have one in my closet already, so when I saw this one I jumped at it. It is so comfortable and classic regardless of if you plan on getting pregnant or not. I’ll be wearing it to my daughter’s Baptism in February!

Nolita Top

A cozy basic. This top has nursing friendly zippers on both sides hidden in the seams. You honestly can’t even tell I’m nursing in it. See it in action on Instagram.

Floral Embroidered Top
This is totally off season, but it’s just too sweet. I plan (fingers crossed) to nurse Julia for a while, so this will take me back into Spring. For Fall, I’m planning to throw my leather jacket on over it and play off the yellow details.
There are hidden nursing slits under the ruffle! You would have zero idea. I had to actively look for them. Which is great, because it means you won’t be accidentally hanging out. But how amazing is that?! You’ll want to wear nursing bra that has the snap access so you can nurse.
