This is my favorite room in our home.
If you look around our house, you’ll notice we like neutral. We like grey. We like black and white photos. And if we could achieve it, we’d probably be complete cozy minimalists.
But when I was pregnant with Julia and redoing the nursery, I decided to go bolder than I had ever gone.
I wanted to play with primary colors.
First, this DIY Fabric Removable Wallpaper popped in my head.
And then, I saw the antique lemon chandelier at a shop in the Marietta Square, and I just had to have it. I talked about it for a week and then finally headed back to buy it.
It made me immediately giddy.
As for the bigger items, this Hemnes Dresser is probably the best thing at IKEA. My Aunt had it in her living room and every time I came over I wanted it. When I got pregnant with Reegan, it was the inspiration for the entire nursery. But with Reegan I was uber gender neutral.
Somehow this dresser made a move from Nassau, Bahamas to Atlanta, GA without crumbling.
I highly recommend it and I would buy it over and over.
These Billy Button Dried Yellow Flowers make the vase wall for me. I had the dried babies breath because I just keep it all over the house.
After those, I was set on blue, white, and yellow, BUT THEN when it came down to the rug my options were just too classic.

I saw this Braided Jute Colorful Rug and this Art Print and couldn’t stop thinking about color. I decided if I hated it in the nursery I could put it in the playroom. Plus it was on sale at the time under $60!
Reegan immediately, over the rub and played Ring Around the Rosie for days. (That song is so morbid.)
As the room came together, I was thrilled.
And it taught me a huge lesson. Your home is not a face tattoo.
Have fun with it!
I still love a minimalistic vibe, but on in the way that I want less stuff and more maximized style. Not having clutter, doesn’t mean you can’t have a personality.
Julia + Reegan’s Pajamas are from Target and by Cloud Island and Cat & Jack, but I can’t seem to find them online.
